If I am only going for a Long Weekend (4 to 5 days)
 then I do not check Luggage on the plane. 
 I used this Compact Travel Bag as a purse on the plane and it passed.   I had 2 Carry ONs  One under the seat.   And I use a Grand Traveler Bag or I take my 22" Spinner for the Overhead Compartment.   AIRLINE STANDARDS for Carry On Bags  The dimensions of carry on is 22" x 14" x 9" to fit in the overhead storage compartment The dimensions of under the seat compartment is 18" 14" x 8"
